We celebrate our 20th Anniversary today!
We have blended our 7 children and today we have 1 grand-daughter.
It has been a ride!
We are grateful to our Lord for creating the institution of marriage.
It’s sad when we have to plead the cause that marriage is still a good thing today.
But people both inside the Church and outside the Church wonder …
Death, divorce and disillusionment cause people to re-think marriage.
We have seen it in our friends and in our own family.
People are asking, at least non-verbally, is traditional marriage a good thing?
In this brief note to our friends and partners with Blended Together Forever, let’s go to the beginning.
Genesis 2:7 tells us the story.
“Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s
nostrils, and the man became a living person.”
But there is a problem.
Verse 18 continues, Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone.”
So the Lord has a solution: “I will make a helper who is just right for him.”
Gina completes me.
Marriage is God’s idea.
Marriage is not about finding the right person as much as becoming the right person.
Marriage teaches you unconditional love, forgiveness and total commitment.
After 20 years of marriage, we can tell you marriage is a GREAT thing.
